The Origin of GAIA Vietnam's Logo

After receiving approval from Dr. Minami — the founder of GAIA Veterinary Clinic in Japan — to transfer the brand and veterinary care techniques, Dr. Long sought out designer T. Hamada in Tokyo, Japan, to create the logo and brand identity for GAIA Veterinary Clinic Vietnam (GAIA Clinic).

The logo of GAIA was conceptualized based on the following ideas:

1. The letter “S” is stylized into the shape of a dragon. In Sino-Vietnamese, the dragon symbolizes “Long,” and “S” is the first letter of the Vietnamese word “Sử” (meaning “history”). Thus, an “S” shaped like a dragon is symbolically “Sử Long” — representing the legacy and journey of Dr. Long. Furthermore, “S” also stands for the four key attributes that define GAIA’s brand:

2. Success: GAIA Veterinary Clinic aims to bring success to its founders, staff, and clients.

3. Smart: GAIA is committed to continuous learning and professional development, always striving to provide optimal healthcare solutions for pets and their owners.

4. Special: GAIA is innovative and distinctive, offering unique services and solutions that elevate its position in the pet care industry.

5. Stupid: GAIA embraces the so-called “foolishness” of wholehearted dedication — honoring the selfless commitment to animal care and the advancement of Vietnam’s veterinary field.

The elliptical shape surrounding the “S” symbolizes the Earth. In Greek mythology, Gaia is the goddess of the Earth — a nurturing figure who embraces all living creatures. The ellipse also resembles a roly-poly toy, which always returns to an upright position, symbolizing resilience and steadfast growth. The head of the “S” extending beyond the ellipse evokes an image of a dragon rising above the world — GAIA's vision expanding globally.

Since its founding, GAIA Clinic has continuously developed and evolved, embodying the noble values represented in its logo. More than establishing its name in Vietnam’s veterinary industry, GAIA Clinic also carries a mission of education — training university students, graduate students, and researchers. Many veterinarians trained at GAIA Clinic have been instilled with both strong clinical skills and ethics, enabling them to take on key roles in pet clinics nationwide.

Having achieved notable success in developing high-quality veterinary talent and recognizing the importance of education in strengthening Vietnam’s veterinary system, GAIA took the next step by establishing GAIA Academy — a professional educational and training institution in pet healthcare. GAIA Academy aspires to inherit and further promote the core values embodied in the GAIA logo, working alongside other entities in the GAIA ecosystem to create a better life for both pets and people.
